For Keeps Sake began like most other small businesses--around the kitchen table, literally. As we struggled to find a place to stash our ever-expanding cache of supplies and a place to work that did not disrupt our creative juices or our family life, we determined that there truly was nothing available to meet our needs and space restrictions. After six months of intense research and product design, our efforts to solve these problems evolved into the KeepsSake Creation Station---a whole room inside four doors.

The KeepsSake Creation Station, KeepsSake Carts, Caboodle Wall, and other organizational products debuted at the Great American Scrapbook Convention in Arlington Texas, June 2000. The response was phenomenal! Our product line increased January 2004 with the addition of STACKS---a complementary modular system.

Prior to For Keeps Sake, owners Teri and Tammy were both employed in the Health Care industry, Teri as Labor and Delivery nurse and Tammy as a Human Resources Corporate Trainer. The most important part of their business is their incredible bond of friendship. As across the street neighbors, either is at home no matter what the address.

In 2001 Bearnson Woodworks LLC was approached by Tammy and Teri to manufacture their products. An agreement was made, and Bearnson Woodworks LLC has produced the Full Line of “For Keeps Sake” products ever since.

In 2008 an agreement was made that enabled Founders Tammy and Teri to retire from “For Keeps Sake” and pursue other interests. We will forever be grateful for their vision and extreme hard work in making this product so successful! We strive to make this product in a way that they would be proud to stand behind.

Bearnson Woodworks LLC has continued to manufacture the product line since 2001. Several investments in machinery and in our facility have been made in order to produce a high-quality product right here in the United States of America.

About the owners:

John W Bearnson

Since his youth John has been working with his hands. While in 7th grade he realized how much he loved woodworking while in 7th grade woodshop. He was lucky to have an excellent High School Cabinetmaking / Woodshop facility, program, and teacher. At the age of 15 (1989) he applied for and got his first job in the cabinet making industry. John took as many Woodshop classes as possible at the High School and during his Senior year ended up with a schedule that enabled him to take 3 hours of Shop. He would then go to his Cabinet Making job and afterward he would return to the high school and attend the community Woodshop night course that was offered to all community members.

During his Senior year, John applied for and was awarded 2 College Scholarships for Woodshop. This enabled him to attend Salt Lake Community College and take college courses in cabinet making and construction.

After a 2-year church mission John started working in a high-end cabinet manufacturer in the south end of the Salt Lake Valley. Here he learned from expert finishers how to professionally finish cabinets and wood products.

John then moved on to a very large woodwork firm in the Salt Lake Valley that produced high end institutional work as well as casework for companies like Banana Republic, Starbucks, Franklin Covey to name a few. This experience gave him the vision of large-scale operations, combined with high quality standards.

In September of 1995, with the help of his father, John started Bearnson Woodworks. In January 2006 Bearnson Woodworks was officially incorporated and has been growing ever since. Along with the For Keeps Sake product line we manufacture high end custom kitchens, bathroom vanities and other custom woodwork.

Today we employ many talented people who are working hard to make each product to the highest standards. We are excited to use state of the art CNC equipment, supported by powerful software. This enables us to provide our high-quality standards that can be repeated time and time again.
